A cold spell of “Yankee weather” and an inexplicable penguin send Deputy Dawg, Musky and Van Gopher into…well, a panic. I need to make this 10 lines long which seems to go against the idea of what a synopsis really is, so I guess I can give it a try without really detailing the entire cartoon for you. i mean it’s a five minute cartoon with mostly sight gags so how much can you say about it? Deputy Dawg in general is a funny cartoon and they do a nice job in spoofing the pop culture of the time. I mean Van gopher is this little beatnik artist dude with a goatee and beret’. How can you not like that? Anyhow Van Gopher is the first to see the penguin and, presumably having never seen one before, thinks it’s a moon monster. When Musky sees it, he sets Van and Deputy D straight, explaining that a penguin is about as much a Southerner as you can get, since he’s from the South Pole and it don’t get no more south than that. Deputy Dawg then tries to arrest the penguin for putting out the fire in the jail’s pot belly stove and eating all the frozen vegetables. Of course the penguin objects thus providing the dramatic tension and humor for the rest of the cartoon. Enjoy!
